#and this scene broke my heart so much too, jfc. because kurt is so, so used to being broken and hurt that being called a fag is just - it’s nothing to him anymore, it barely even hurts. but seeing the way it breaks his father, the pain it causes burt - that’s what hurts kurt, more than anything else. because he’d almost forgotten the pain, but his dad can’t. because all burt sees is his baby boy getting bullied for being who he is, and kurt had forgotten that sometimes you have to feel the pain to really get passed it. and this moment is just - it’s where we see kurt’s true heart. because it’s here that he goes - that’s it. i can’t do this to my dad, i can’t make my dad hurt like this, and i’ll do whatever it takes to protect him. just as burt would storm down the school to protect and encourage kurt, kurt would give up anything and everything to protect his father. #they are the best father and son ever
